Vic Sotto Hosts Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on TV5

Bossing Vic Sotto finally agreed to host the new season of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire on TV5.
This is Vic Sotto's first hosting stint outside of T.A.P.E., Inc., the producer of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. He will be joining his best friend Joey de Leon in the TV5 family. Joey hosts the new season of "Wow Mali!" on the rising network.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was first franchised by Viva TV way back in 2000 with Christopher de Leon as the first game master. It was aired on IBC 13 until 2002 when its studio was razed by a fire. It was a hit among Pinoy televiewers back then.
Seven years after, the popularity of the said game show was revived by the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. To date, more than 60 countries have their own version of the show. And this year, the Philippines will have another version, too, courtesy of TV5.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Philippine edition is replacing Gretchen Barretto's You and Me Against the World, which according to reports, was a ratings flop.
